OUR PROGRAM

Breeding Dam & Sire Health

We have built our program upon a foundation of hand selected founding dams and sires with complimentary temperaments. To promote the correct conformation to the Goldendoodle breed standard, we have done our research and testing.

Our litters will produce F1 generation Goldendoodles, meaning our puppies will equally represent each breed (Standard Poodle and Golden Retriever) by 50% of each parent line. Subsequent generations of Goldendoodles consist of F1b and so forth. For example, an F1b puppy would result from a breeding pair of dogs consisting of a Standard Poodle & F1 Goldendoodle. This means an F1b puppy will have the potential to have 75% Poodle genetic expression and 25% Golden Retriever genetic expression. However with these blends of breeding drifting further away from the Golden Retriever line, the amount of genetic expression from each breed, is a gamble at best. To most accurately represent both pedigrees contributing to the Goldendoodle breed, we have chosen to only select breeding dogs who are AKC pedigreed, and thus the puppies will be a guaranteed 50% representation of each parent line (breed), dam (standard poodle) and sire (golden retriever).

 Priding our dogs in being healthy and superior in lineage, we have carefully selected and screened our breeding pairs.

• Health: Our breeding dam and sire are health screened/tested by Embark for genetic predispositions. Testing results are available upon request and will also be available on Embark.com In addition we consider our breeding dogs a part of our family. They go with us to school to pick up kids, play at the park, go for walks downtown..you get the picture! This means they are also under the care of a local veterinarian, here in Clinton, who ensures they are up to date on vaccinations, and all their health needs. 

• Lineage: Our breeding dams and sires are both AKC registered and are backed by documented lineage of a minimum of 3 generations. This is in effort to adequately represent pedigree conformation, from both the sire and dam.

Puppy Health

​

Our puppies will be dewormed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations by the time of their adoption into their forever home. We allow our pups to go to their new families at a minimum age of 8 weeks. 

​

They are loved and cared for during their first 8 weeks of life, here in our home, on the farm. We also promote early neurological stimulation, following Dr. Battaglia's Neuro Stimulation protocol, as a model. Puppies are exposed to an environment of typical household stimuli which includes noises from CDs, kids, vacuums, etc. Our puppies are also socialized at an early age with our 6 children and friends, once the puppies immune systems are mature enough for this interaction.
